Connect and change the channel

  1. Connect to the modem direct with a cable.
  2. Open a browser and enter the gateway's default address http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar.
  3. The Network status page appears. If so, click the Manage gateway (advanced) link (usually located in the upper right corner). The Authentication Required dialog box appears.
  4. Enter the username: routeradmin and password: MAC Address of the router (all in uppercase) (please see Table 1, “How to find MAC Address”) and click Sign In or OK to display the default landing page. It is the Device Info page.

  1. On the Left Menu, click on Wireless, Wifi Insight. Click on Start Data Collection, wait for 5-7 seconds, then click on Stop Data Collection.
  2. On the Left Menu, click on Site Survey. You will see at what channel your Wifi operates, and the saturation of this channel.
  3. On the Left Menu, click on Channel Statistics, you will see Channel Capacity, Interference and Adjacent Channels.
  4. You need to identify most unsaturated channel based on statistics. In our case we will change from Channel 1 to Channel 3. On the Left Menu, click on Wireless, 2.4 GHz Band, Advanced. You need change value of field Channel, then scroll down and click on Apply/Save.

 

  1. On the Left Menu, click on Wireless, Wifi Insight. Click on Start Data Collection, wait for 5-7 seconds, then click on Stop Data Collection.
  2. On the Left Menu, click on Site Survey. You will see the changes on the graph.
  3. On the Left Menu, click on Logout to exit modem settings page.
