Set static ip on your windows computer

  1. Click Start Menu > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center. (For Windows 8 and higher, search for and open Control Panel and select Network and Internet).
  2. Click Change adapter settings.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Right-click on Local Area Connection and click on Properties.
  2. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click on Properties.
  3. Select "Use the following IP address" and enter the IP address: 192.168.1.2, Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway. and DNS server. Click OK and close the Local Area Connection properties window.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

connect and setup the modem

  1. Connect to the modem direct with a cable.
  2. Open a browser and enter the gateway's default address http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar.
  3. The Network status page appears. The Authentication Required dialog box appears.
  4. Enter the username: admin and password: adslroot (by default) and click Sign In or OK to display the default landing page. It is the Device Info page.
  5. On the Left Menu, click on Advance Setup, then click on WAN Service.
  6. Remove any WAN Services. There is most likely a Bridge (Br0) or PPPoE Service present.

 

 

 

  1. Add a new WAN interface, making sure to select atm from the drop-down menu and click Next.
  2. Select WAN Service Type PPPoE then click on Next. Enter the PPPoE credentials, of ********@dialloginternet.ca and the password of ************** Scroll down to the bottom and click Save.

 

  1. Select a want interface as the system default gateway. Make sure everything will be on your left side. Then click on Next.
  2. At the end click on Apply/Save.
  3. Add a new WAN interface, making sure to select ptm from the drop-down menu and click Next.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Select WAN Service Type PPPoE then click on Next. Enter the PPPoE credentials, of ********@dialloginternet.ca and the password of ************** Scroll down to the bottom and click Save.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Select a want interface as the system default gateway. Make sure everything will be on your left side. Then click on Next.
  2. At the end click on Apply/Save.
  3. Power off the modem and connect the DSL line.
  4. Power the modem on and after 1 or 2 minutes, log back into the management interface to check for connectivity.
