Set static ip on your windows computer

  1. Click Start Menu > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center. (For Windows 8 and higher, search for and open Control Panel and select Network and Internet).
  2. Click Change adapter settings.

 

 

 

  1. Right-click on Local Area Connection and click on Properties.
  2. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click on Properties.
  3. Select "Use the following IP address" and enter the IP address: 192.168.1.2, Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway. and DNS server. Click OK and close the Local Area Connection properties window. 

 

 

connect and setup the modem

  1. Connect to the modem direct with a cable.
  2. Open a browser and enter the gateway's default address http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar.
  3. The Network status page appears. If so, click the Manage gateway (advanced) link (usually located in the upper right corner). The Authentication Required dialog box appears.
  4. Enter the username: admin and password: admin (by default) and click Sign In or OK to display the default landing page. It is the Device Info page.

  1. On the Left Menu, click on Advanced Setup.
  2. On the Left Menu, click on WAN Service.
  3. Remove any WAN Services by selecting them on the right, than clicking 'remove' below. There is most likely a Bridge (Br0) Service present.

  1. click Add to make a new WAN interface, making sure to select Atm (4_0_35 or 0_0_35) from the drop-down menu and click Next.
  2. Make sure PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) is selected making sure to keep 802.1p Priority at the defaults to -1 and the 802.1q VLAN ID to the defaults of -1. Click Next.

  1. Enter the PPPoE credentials, of ********@dialloginternet.ca and the password of ************** Scroll down to the bottom and click Next.
  2. Make sure ppp1.1 is on the left for the gateway and click Next.

  1. Make sure ppp1.1 is on the left for the DNS server and click Next.

  1. Click the Apply/Save button and wait for the WAN service screen to appear like below.

14. Add a new WAN interface, making sure to select ptm (4_1_1) from the drop-down menu and click Next.

15. Make sure PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) is selected, make sure to enter 1 at the 802.1p Priority and 35 at the 802.1q VLAN ID. Click Next.

16. Enter the PPPoE credentials, of ********@dialloginternet.ca and the password of ************** Scroll down to the bottom and click Next.

17. Make sure like before that ppp0.and ppp1.1 are on the left for the gateway, than click Next.

  1. Make sure and ppp1.1 are on the left for the DNS server and click Next.
  2. Click the Apply/Save button and wait for the WAN service screen to appear like below.

 

  1. Power off the modem and connect the DSL line.
  2. Power the modem on and after 1 or 2 minutes, log back into the management interface to check for connectivity.
