Set static ip on your windows computer
- Click Start Menu > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center. (For Windows 8 and higher, search for and open Control Panel and select Network and Internet).
- Click Change adapter settings.
- Right-click on Local Area Connection and click on Properties.
- Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click on Properties.
- Select "Use the following IP address" and enter the IP address: 192.168.1.2, Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway. and DNS server. Click OK and close the Local Area Connection properties window.
connect and setup the modem
- Connect to the modem direct with a cable.
- Open a browser and enter the gateway's default address http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar.
- The Network status page appears. The Authentication Required dialog box appears.
- Enter the username: admin and password: admin (by default) and click Sign In or OK to display the default landing page. It is the Device Info page.
- On the Left Menu, click on Network, WAN Settings.
- Remove any WAN Services. There is most likely a Bridge (Br0) or PPPoE Service present.
- Add a new WAN interface, making sure to select VDSL from the drop-down menu. Select Connection Type PPPoE.
- Change VLAN ID (1-4094) to 35. Enter the PPPoE credentials, of ********@dialloginternet.ca and the password of ************** Scroll down to the bottom and click Save.
- Add a new WAN interface, making sure to select ADSL from the drop-down menu. Select Connection Type PPPoE.
- Keep all default settings. Enter the PPPoE credentials, of ********@dialloginternet.ca and the password of ************** Scroll down to the bottom and click Save.
- Power off the modem and connect the DSL line.
- Power the modem on and after 1 or 2 minutes, log back into the management interface to check for connectivity.
