Set static ip on your windows computer

  1. Click Start Menu > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center. (For Windows 8 and higher, search for and open Control Panel and select Network and Internet).
  2. Click Change adapter settings.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Right-click on Local Area Connection and click on Properties.
  2. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click on Properties.
  3. Select "Use the following IP address" and enter the IP address: 192.168.1.2, Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway. and DNS server. Click OK and close the Local Area Connection properties window.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

connect and setup the modem

  1. Connect to the modem direct with a cable.
  2. Open a browser and enter the gateway's default address http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar.
  3. The Network status page appears. The Authentication Required dialog box appears.
  4. Enter the username: admin and password: admin (by default) and click Sign In or OK to display the default landing page. It is the Device Info or Quick Setup page.

 

 

  1. On the Left Menu, click on Advanced Setup, then click on WAN.
  2. Remove any WAN Services. There is most likely a Bridge (Br0) or PPPoE Service present.
  3. Add a new WAN interface, making sure ATM PVC Configuration page showed. Keep all default settings and click Next.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Select PPPoE on Connection Type, and click on
  2. Enter the PPPoE credentials, of ********@dialloginternet.ca and the password of ************** Scroll down to the bottom and click Next.

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Click on Next. At the last page click on Save to save these settings.
  2. Power off the modem and connect the DSL line.
  3. Power the modem on and after 1 or 2 minutes, log back into the management interface to check for connectivity.
