Switch from Routed mode to Bridge mode
Set static ip on your windows computer
- Click Start Menu > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center. (For Windows 8 and higher, search for and open Control Panel and select Network and Internet).
- Click Change adapter settings.
- Right-click on Local Area Connection and click on Properties.
- Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click on Properties.
- Select "Use the following IP address" and enter the IP address: 192.168.1.2, Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway. and DNS server. Click OK and close the Local Area Connection properties window.
connect and setup the modem
- Connect to the modem direct with a cable.
- Open a browser and enter the gateway's default address http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar.
- The Network status page appears. If so, click the Manage gateway (advanced) link (usually located in the upper right corner). The Authentication Required dialog box appears.
- Enter the username: routeradmin and password: MAC Address of the router (all in uppercase) (please see Table 1, “How to find MAC Address”) and click Sign In or OK to display the default landing page. It is the Device Info page.

- On the Left Menu, click on Advanced Setup.
- On the Left Menu, click on WAN Service.
- Remove any WAN Services. There is most likely a Routed (PPPoE) Service present.
- Add a new WAN interface, making sure to select Atm (4_0_35 or 0_0_35) from the drop-down menu and click Next.
- Make sure Bridging is selected. Click Next.
- Click the Apply/Save button and wait for the WAN service screen to appear.
- Add a new WAN interface, making sure to select ptm (4_1_1) from the drop-down menu and click Next.
- Make sure Bridging is selected, make sure to enter 1 at the 802.1p Priority and 35 at the 802.1q VLAN ID. Click Next.
- Click the Apply/Save button and wait for the WAN service screen to appear.
- In the Advanced Setup menu, click on the DSL menu option.
- Look for the Stinger Mode Enable box, put a check mark in it, click the Apply/Save button and after it is saved successfully, click on the Device Info menu option.
- Power off the modem and connect the DSL line.
- Power the modem on and after 1 or 2 minutes, log back into the management interface to check for connectivity.
